Cabinet Re-do

Hope everyone has not blown away today! It has been a very blustery day here in Pa. today, things were blowing everywhere, I am happy to say that we did not have any damage and I didn’t lose any of my fall decorations…yay!! Other than the wind it was a nice Fall day!

I took my Mother today and we went to a new TS. The first 200 customers received a $20.00 gift card. Well I have never been the first to any of these grand openings but today we made a plan and we were off at 7:30 this morning. Mom and I thought we would probably be back in line pretty far but to our surprise we one of the first there. We walked up to the door and were the third in line. I can’t believe it!! I guess the actual wait time was about a hour and 15 minutes. We did get our gift card and a real nice checkbook cover. It was great fun and we had fun chit chatting with the other ladies that came in line behind us. The wind was kind of a nuisance (you wouldn’t want to have a good hair day) but it was worth it!! Boy girls did I find the buys!!! I will share the pictures when I get them downloaded, but I had a GOOD day!!!

I went to the Adams County Apple Harvest craft show on Sunday and had a good time there too.

They even had a Hay Mound for adults…..

not the kind of hay mound your were expecting????? lol

I did purchase a few things, some of the vendors that I usually purchase from were not there :( so my pickens were slim!

I bought this adorable small scarecrow, he fits perfect on top of my wall cupboard…isn’t he cute?

Love these little felt flowers (the vase is a previous TS find), I believe I seen a tutorial for these on someone's blog, but they are cute!

I just couldn’t resist this sweet little Witch, just love her!

Hubby and I ate to our hearts content…everything apple! Boy was I stuffed when I left there, what a day…. good eats and fun shopping, a nice end to the weekend!

Now to the re-do. I have been working on this cabinet base since Labor Day (it is the one that I previously posted that I had bought at the public sale). Weeell it is finally finished….

The day of the sale…….

getting started…..

I didn’t touch the top of the cabinet….love the patina on the wood.

Getting it in place…couldn’t wait to start using it….

And here it is finished..I painted it Antique Pewter (Old Village) on the body and the inserts of the doors are Colonial White (Old Village) and then I rubbed dark walnut stain all over. I love the result, and I am glad it is finished!!!  I am still tweaking the kitchen and when I am done I will post the before/after pictures.

So that is all for now, that was quite a overload of pictures wasn’t it??  I will post some of my TS finds soon and hopefully the finished kitchen.

Thanks so much to all of you for visiting and for all of  your sweet comments. I love stopping by your blog homes and getting inspiration!!!  My blog door is always open to you! Please stop back again!

Until the next time!

Wanda

  6. Wanda, in response to the question on the walnut stain, no, I don't have a recipe for it, but if you are interested in making " walnut ink", you can go to ole crows nest journal blog (on my blog list) she did a tutorial on one of her august posts on making the ink:)
